Why Cortex Mail

Most email tools were built for newsletters. Cortex Mail is built for businesses that get leads every day and need them called back, such as real estate, education, healthcare, finance and automobile dealers.

Wholesale sending cost

Amazon SES is one of the cheapest ways to send email at scale; Amazon lists it at about $0.10 per 1,000 emails. Connect your own account and Amazon bills you directly, or use ours and pay one plan in rupees.

Your domain, your reputation

Mail goes out signed with your own domain (DKIM, SPF and DMARC), not a shared marketing domain. Your good sending history stays yours.

Designs from your creative

The composer turns the creative your designer already made into a light, seamless email with live text, Call and WhatsApp buttons and a compliant footer.

Leads go back to sales

"I am interested" and "Edit your details" buttons carry the reader's own name, email and phone. One tap confirms, the lead is updated in your LMS and sales gets an alert.

Segments sales understands

Opened or clicked in the last 5, 10, 25 or 100 campaigns, opened but did not click, replied, bounced, never opened, city or a radius around a pincode, age and gender from your LMS.

Drips with no send cap

An instant welcome email, then a journey of 180 days or more that changes path when a lead clicks the price list, books a visit or goes quiet.

Replies in one place

Replies are collected per contact, marked in segments and forwarded to your team, so a reader who writes back is never lost in a no-reply box.

Unsubscribe that keeps people

Gmail and Yahoo require a one-click unsubscribe, and we honour it. Readers who open the footer link first see a preference page that offers fewer emails or other topics, and can tell you why they are leaving.

Sending from your LMS or CRM vs Cortex Mail

Many lead management systems can send email. That is fine for one-to-one notes and alerts to your team. For campaigns to thousands of leads, a dedicated sender protects your domain and your results.

What mattersBuilt-in LMS or CRM mailerCortex Mail
Inbox placementOften a shared SMTP server or the LMS vendor's domain; one bad sender on the same server can hurt everyone.Amazon SES with your own domain signed by DKIM, SPF and DMARC; volume ramped up gently on new domains.
Bounces and complaintsUsually logged, rarely acted on; bad addresses keep getting mail.Hard bounces and complaints are stopped automatically after every send.
UnsubscribeOften a manual flag; no one-click header.One-click unsubscribe as Gmail and Yahoo require, plus a preference page and reasons.
DesignBasic text templates; image-only mails that land in spam.Creative-to-email composer: seamless strips, live text, real buttons, alt text.
SegmentsBy lead stage or source.Lead stage and source plus email behaviour: opened, clicked, replied, last N campaigns, location radius.
DripsLimited steps, rarely branch on clicks.180 days or more, branches on clicks, visits and silence.
Large sendsCan slow the LMS or hit daily limits.Queued and paced for SES, so 2 lakh emails go out without touching your LMS.
ReportsSent and maybe opened.Delivered, opens with machine opens flagged, clicks, replies, by city and by inbox provider.
Best forOne-to-one emails and internal alerts.Campaigns, welcome emails and nurture journeys to every lead.

Keep using your LMS as the source of truth. Cortex Mail reads leads from it and writes interest, replies and unsubscribes back. How the connection works.

Tool by tool

Every tool here is good at something. This is when each one is the right choice, and when Cortex Mail fits better.

Mailchimp

Marketing suite

The best-known all-in-one email tool, with a large template library, landing pages and a huge list of integrations. Pricing grows with the size of your audience.

Choose Mailchimp ifyou want a familiar tool with every integration and your list is modest in size.
Cortex Mail fits better ifyour list is large and growing, you want sending cost close to Amazon's rate, and leads must flow back to your LMS.

ActiveCampaign

Marketing suite

Known for its deep automation builder, lead scoring and built-in CRM. Priced by the number of contacts.

Choose ActiveCampaign ifyou need very complex automations and want its CRM as your main sales tool.
Cortex Mail fits better ifyou already have an LMS your team lives in and want email to feed it, at SES prices.

HubSpot

CRM and marketing suite

A full CRM with marketing, sales and service hubs. Very capable, and costs rise as your marketing contacts grow.

Choose HubSpot ifyou want one platform for CRM, website, ads and email and have the budget for it.
Cortex Mail fits better ifyou only need excellent email on top of the LMS you already pay for.

Brevo

Marketing suite

Formerly Sendinblue. Email, SMS and WhatsApp campaigns with a CRM, mostly priced by emails sent rather than contacts stored.

Choose Brevo ifyou want email, SMS and WhatsApp campaigns in one bill.
Cortex Mail fits better ifyou want your own SES, creative-to-email design, and interest pushed to your LMS.

GetResponse

Marketing suite

Email with landing pages, webinars, funnels and automation in one place.

Choose GetResponse ifwebinars and sales funnels are part of how you sell.
Cortex Mail fits better ifyour leads come from ads and portals into an LMS and need fast follow-up by email.

MailerLite

Marketing suite

Simple, tidy and affordable, with a good editor, landing pages and a free plan for small lists.

Choose MailerLite ifyou send newsletters to a small or medium list and want simplicity.
Cortex Mail fits better ifyou mail lakhs of leads, need sales hand-off and want SES costs.

Zoho Campaigns

Marketing suite

Email marketing that works closely with Zoho CRM and the rest of the Zoho suite. Zoho also runs ZeptoMail for transactional email.

Choose Zoho Campaigns ifyour business already runs on Zoho CRM and Zoho One.
Cortex Mail fits better ifyou use another LMS, or want SES sending and the composer. Zoho CRM can still connect by webhook.

BigMailer

SES-based sender

Campaigns through your own Amazon SES (or theirs), with support for many brands in one account. A good way to get SES prices with a friendly interface.

Choose BigMailer ifyou want an established SES front end for several brands today.
Cortex Mail fits better ifyou also want creative-to-email design, Call and WhatsApp buttons, LMS-connected drips and interest sent to sales.

MailBluster

SES-based sender

A lean, low-cost campaign tool that sends through your own Amazon SES or SMTP.

Choose MailBluster ifyou want the simplest, cheapest way to send newsletters through your own SES.
Cortex Mail fits better ifyou need segments, drips and LMS hand-off, not only blasts.

SendGrid

Email API

Twilio's email service: a developer API for app emails, plus a marketing campaigns module.

Choose SendGrid ifyour developers send app emails such as OTPs and receipts at high volume.
Cortex Mail fits better ifyour marketing team, not developers, runs campaigns and drips.

Mailtrap

Email API and testing

Started as a safe inbox for testing emails during development, and now also sends transactional and bulk email.

Choose Mailtrap ifyou build software and want to test emails before they reach real people.
Cortex Mail fits better ifyou need a ready campaign tool with segments, drips and reports.

Inbox, not spam: what really decides it

No tool can promise the Primary tab; Gmail decides tabs from the content and from how your readers behave. These are the things that do move mail out of spam and towards the inbox, and Cortex Mail does each of them by default.

1

Your own domain, signed

DKIM, SPF and DMARC on your domain, with a custom MAIL FROM so everything lines up. How to set it up.

2

Clean, consented lists

Typos fixed, duplicates removed, bounces and complaints stopped. Keep the bounce rate under 2% and the complaint rate under 0.1%.

3

Engaged readers first

Big sends start with people who opened or clicked recently, so mailbox providers see good reactions early.

4

Real text, not one image

A short live-text block, real buttons, alt text and a plain-text version. Image-only emails are a common spam signal.

5

Easy to leave

A one-click unsubscribe header and a visible footer link. People who cannot leave press "Report spam" instead.

6

Steady volume

New domains are warmed up over a few weeks, and sending is paced rather than dumped in one burst.

About open rates: Apple Mail loads images for privacy, which counts as an open even when no one reads the email. Cortex Mail marks those machine opens so your open rate and your segments reflect real readers.

Frequently asked questions

Is Cortex Mail available now?

The Email Composer and Email List Cleaner are live and free. Sending, segments and drips are in early access: request a place and we set up your workspace with you.

Can you guarantee my emails land in the Primary tab?

No sender can. Gmail decides tabs from the content and from how readers react. What we control is authentication on your own domain, clean lists, steady sending volume, real text and buttons instead of one big image, and easy unsubscribes. Those are the things that move mail out of spam and towards the inbox.

Do I need my own Amazon SES account?

No. You can send through ours after verifying your domain, or connect your own Amazon SES account so Amazon bills you for sending directly. You can switch later.

Which LMS and CRM tools can connect?

Any system that can call a webhook or an API, or export a CSV. That covers most lead management systems, Zoho CRM, HubSpot, Salesforce, LeadSquared, Google Sheets and website forms. See the Connect your LMS guide.

Can I move from Mailchimp or BigMailer?

Yes. Export your contacts together with the unsubscribed, bounced and complained lists. We import all of them so people who left never get mail again.
