Resize a photo or signature to 20 KB, 50 KB or 100 KB
Indian application portals are strict: a passport-size photo between 20 and 50 KB, a signature under 10 or 20 KB, and often exact pixel sizes such as 200 × 230. Guessing with a phone screenshot rarely works.
Quick answer. Open Image Resizer, drop the photo, set the pixel size the form asks for (for example 200 × 230), then switch the output to "Target size" and type the KB limit (for example 20). The tool scales and re-encodes until the file is under the limit and shows the final size. It runs on your device; the photo is not uploaded.

Step by step
- Open Image Resizer and add the photo or signature image.
- Enter the required pixel dimensions, or pick a preset. Use Crop if the proportions differ.
- Choose JPG as the format, then set Target size to the KB limit from the form.
- Download and upload to the portal. Keep the original safe in case the portal wants a different size later.
Tips that save a second attempt
- Signatures: photograph on plain white paper in daylight, crop tightly, then target 10 or 20 KB. Converting to greyscale in the Photo Editor first makes it cleaner.
- Portals that say "between 20 KB and 50 KB" reject files that are too small too. Target 40 KB to be safe.
- Several photos at once? Bulk Resize applies the same size and limit to up to 50 images and gives you a ZIP.
- Need to remove a busy background first? Remove Background, then pick a plain white or light-blue fill.
Frequently asked questions
Why does my photo look blurry at 20 KB?
20 KB is very little data. Keep the pixel size small (200 × 230 is enough for a passport photo) so the compressor does not have to crush a large image; a small sharp image beats a large blurry one.
Which format should I use?
JPG for photos and signatures, unless the portal specifically asks for PNG. JPG reaches small sizes far more easily.
Is the image uploaded anywhere?
No. Resizing happens in your browser. The file stays on your phone or computer.
