How to convert a 2D floor plan into a 3D render for a brochure

A furnished 3D view sells a layout far better than lines on paper, but a studio render costs thousands of rupees per unit and takes days. For a 40-unit project that is a real budget and a real delay.

Quick answer. Open 2D to 3D Floor Plan, upload the plan image (a brochure page, CAD export or a clear photo), keep the Developer Version look, choose a size and press Render. In about a minute you get a photo-real top-down render with furnished rooms, labels, a sand-beige floor, oak decks, royal-blue upholstery and an Indian family at home, in exactly the orientation and layout of your plan. The first render is free; later renders use credits, and you can edit the result by typing ("make the sofas grey", "no people") or restyle it for free in the Studio.

Step by step

  1. Export each unit plan as a PNG or JPG at the largest size you have (brochure PDFs exported as PNG work well).
  2. Upload a plan, keep Developer Version selected so every unit in the project matches, and add a headline such as "3 BHK · 2375 sft · East facing".
  3. Press Render. Check labels and room positions against the plan; use Re-render once if anything moved.
  4. Download, or refine: Ask the AI for changes, swap colours and shadows in the Studio, and upscale to 4K for print.

Tips that save a second attempt

  • Consistency matters more than any single render: the locked Developer Version style keeps a whole project looking like one set.
  • Every facing and mirror of a unit is rendered as its own layout; the reference is for style only, never for room positions.
  • Rendering at 2K first and upgrading the keeper to 4K is cheaper than rendering every attempt at 4K.
  • Old or scanned plans: run Floor Plan Redraw first to get a clean 2D drawing, then convert that.

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost?

The first render is free with an account. After that a 2K render is 25 credits (1 credit = ₹0.50, so ₹12.50); 4K and the premium Atlas engine cost more. Studio edits, recolouring, shadows and the title badge are free.

Is the plan uploaded?

For this tool, yes: the plan image is sent to the rendering engine to produce the image and is not stored afterwards. All the other tools on the site run fully on your device.

Can I use the renders commercially?

Yes. Renders made from your own plans are yours to use in brochures, listings, hoardings and presentations.
