How to convert a PDF floor plan to 3D

Floor plans live inside PDFs: the brochure, the architect's drawing set, the agreement annexure. The 3D tool takes images, so the job is two steps, both free to start, and the PDF itself never leaves your computer.

Quick answer. Open PDF to JPG on this site, choose the page with the plan and export it as a PNG at 200 dpi or higher; the conversion happens in your browser. Crop the exported image to the unit plan, removing legends and site maps, with the free photo editor if needed. Then upload the cropped PNG to 2D to 3D Floor Plan, pick a style and render. The walls, openings and printed sizes from the PDF are kept in the 3D view.

Step by step

  1. Open PDF to JPG, drop the brochure or drawing PDF, and select the page with the floor plan.
  2. Export as PNG at 200 dpi (300 dpi if the plan is small on the page). Thin wall lines need the pixels.
  3. Crop the image to the unit plan. The photo editor on this site does it in the browser; cut away the site map, legend and disclaimer.
  4. Upload the cropped plan to 2D to 3D Floor Plan, choose a style, render, and finish in the Studio.

Tips that save a second attempt

  • Vector PDFs from CAD export beautifully at any dpi. Scanned PDFs are only as good as the scan; export at 300 dpi and consider a redraw first.
  • If several units share one page, export the page once and crop each unit separately; render them in the same saved style.
  • A brochure plan with a tinted background renders fine; a plan printed over a photograph should be redrawn clean first with Floor Plan Redraw.
  • Keep the dimensions in the crop. They drive the furniture scale in the render and are reproduced as labels.

Frequently asked questions

Can I upload the PDF directly to the 3D tool?

Not yet; it takes JPG, PNG and WebP. PDF to JPG is one click and runs on your device, so nothing is uploaded at that step.

Will the plan's dimensions appear in the 3D view?

Yes. Room names and sizes printed on the plan are read and rendered as labels. A plan without them renders without labels.

My PDF is password-protected.

Remove the password with the owner's permission before exporting; the PDF tools cannot open an encrypted file.

What does a 3D render cost?

The first render is free with an account. After that a 2K Lumen render is 25 credits (₹12.50 at ₹0.50 a credit), 4K is 55 and the premium Atlas engine is 60. Restyling, recolouring, backgrounds and titles in the Studio are free.

Is the plan uploaded?

For the AI floor-plan tools, yes: the image is sent to the rendering engine to produce the result and is not stored afterwards. The image, PDF and video tools on the site run entirely on your device.
