How to convert a photo or JPG of a floor plan to 3D
The plan you have is a JPG from a WhatsApp forward, a screenshot from a portal or a phone photo of the site-office board. All three can become a 3D view; the difference between a clean result and a messy one is almost entirely the quality of that image.

Quick answer. If the image is sharp, square-on and shows the whole unit, upload it directly to 2D to 3D Floor Plan, pick a style and render; the engine reads the walls, openings and labels from the photo. If it is skewed, shadowed, low-resolution or has other plans in frame, run it through Floor Plan Redraw first (five free a day): you get a clean 2D plan with the same layout and labels, and "Make it 3D" sends it to the render with one click.

Step by step
- Check the image: can you read the room sizes? Is the plan a rectangle, not a trapezoid? Is only one unit in frame? If yes to all three, go straight to step 3.
- If not, open Floor Plan Redraw, upload the photo, pick a style and redraw. Crop to the unit on the page first if other plans are in the shot.
- Upload the plan, or press Make it 3D from the redraw result, in 2D to 3D Floor Plan. Choose a style or a reference photo.
- Render, check the labels against the original, then restyle and download in the Studio for free.
Tips that save a second attempt
- Retake a bad photo rather than fixing it. Stand square to the plan, avoid glare from a window, fill the frame.
- WhatsApp compresses images heavily. Ask for the original file or a PDF export when you can; a 2,000-px-wide plan renders much better than an 800-px one.
- Screenshots from portals are usually small. The free image resizer can upscale moderately, but a redraw produces a cleaner input.
- HEIC photos from an iPhone upload directly to the redraw tool; for the 3D tool, convert HEIC to JPG first with the free converter.
Frequently asked questions
Which formats does the 3D tool accept?
JPG, PNG and WebP up to 25 MB. HEIC from an iPhone can be converted to JPG in your browser with the Image Converter on this site.
The photo has a shadow across one corner. Will it render?
Usually, if the labels under the shadow are still readable. If not, redraw first; the redraw engine handles uneven light better than a direct render does.
Will a low-resolution image give a low-resolution render?
The render is produced at 1K, 2K or 4K regardless, but the engine can only preserve what it can read. Small, blurry labels may be dropped or mis-read; redraw first for the best result.
What does a 3D render cost?
The first render is free with an account. After that a 2K Lumen render is 25 credits (₹12.50 at ₹0.50 a credit), 4K is 55 and the premium Atlas engine is 60. Restyling, recolouring, backgrounds and titles in the Studio are free.
Is the plan uploaded?
For the AI floor-plan tools, yes: the image is sent to the rendering engine to produce the result and is not stored afterwards. The image, PDF and video tools on the site run entirely on your device.
